Cup Car Derby & Brown Paper Trees

Week of 9/22/14

We have had a great start to the Maker year as we welcomed back old friends and met new ones. Excitement is high as we all look forward to a full year of breaking, bending, molding, fixing, hammering, ripping, painting, twisting, singing, strumming, and plain ol' making. On Tuesday, our Maker Workshop focused on creating individual derby cars that were self-propelled by a balloon's thrust. We had a lot of great idea extensions for the project and I think it turned out really well. On Thursday we returned old brown paper grocery bags to their original form...in a sense. By cutting, twisting, and bending we were able to transform some trash into an eye-catching Autumn decoration. Enjoy the pictures below!
