Welcome Back: Some Notes for 2014-2015 Program Year

Our First Day this year will be on Thursday, September 11, 2014.

Welcome and Welcome Back!

We are very excited to be starting a new program year at Awbury Arboretum, complete with new and familiar faces and experiences.

At Awbury, our programs are in two different buildings on opposite sides of the arboretum. The 4 to 12 year olds in Day Program, and the Teen Programs are situated at the Garden Classroom, which is accessible through a gate on Ardleigh St. northwest of Washington Lane. There is plenty of room to park on Ardleigh. After walking through the gate, continue on the newly resurfaced path. The Garden Classroom is the green building on your right with the purple doors.

The 10-15 year old programs are held at the Cope House. In order to reach the Cope House, please drive through the gate on Chew Ave. between Washington Lane and E. Haines St. Choose the road to the left and very slowly continue on it until you see the Cope House. Drive in front of the Cope House and follow the road to the parking lot behind it. There’s not a lot of room to park so try to make your parting words brief. To exit follow the road you took in.

If you need to drop off and pick up in both locations, please go to the Cope House first and then make your way to the Garden Classroom.

This year we welcome back all of last year's staff, Adam, Alia, Andy, Angie, Asha, Katie, and Paige, and are excited to announce that Heather Gray is joining our facilitation team. She will he working with the new Teen Program as well as the Open Learning Group and DIY Club.

You should be contacted about tuition payments and volunteer opportunities by the end of the month. Please see our updated policies and guidelines, and don't forget to spread the word about our programs. We do have a few spaces left.

See you in a few weeks!
